The European Football Association (UEFA) will hold the draw for the group stage of the Champions League for the new season 2022-2023, in Istanbul, Turkey, on Thursday evening.

The 32 clubs qualified for the group stage will be divided into 8 groups, each comprising 4 teams, after dividing them into 4 levels so that the group includes a team from each level.

In accordance with the rules of the Champions League, clubs from the same country will be separated from each other in the group stage draw.

UEFA Champions League Draw

It is expected that 3 teams will join them after the preliminary round matches finish today, Wednesday, led by the Turkish Trabzon match against the Danish team Copenhagen, at the Shinol Gunes Stadium at nine in the evening, the match that comes within the second leg of the qualifying stage for the group stage of the tournament.

The Trabzon team fell to Copenhagen with two goals against a goal, in the confrontation that took place between them, at the “Parken” stadium, in the first leg of the decisive qualifying round for the group stage of the Champions League during the 2022-2023 edition. Victor Claeson scored the first goal for Copenhagen in the ninth minute of the match.

As usual, the first and second-place winners from each group will qualify for the playoffs, with the third-ranked player moving to the European League, while the bottom of the standings will be eliminated from the continental competitions.

After completing the contract for the qualifiers to the Round of 16, the draw for this round will be held on November 7, then the quarter-final draws on March 17, 2023.

The draw for the quarter-finals of the Champions League will include determining the semi-final track, so there will be no draw for the semi-finals.

It is worth noting that Real Madrid won the Champions League last season 2021-2022.
