Barcelona will face Inter

Inter in a “dilemma” before facing Barcelona in the crucial match

Doubts are swirling around the participation of Argentine striker Lautaro Martinez with Inter Milan against its Spanish guest, Barcelona, on Tuesday, in the group stage of the European Champions League, coach Simone Inzaghi announced on Monday.

The 2021 Italian champion is already suffering from the absence of his other Belgian striker, Romelu Lukaku, since late August, who was expected to return against Barcelona, but the completion of his recovery was postponed for a few days, according to Inzaghi confirmed.

Martinez, who scored three goals this season, suffered from muscle “fatigue” during the 2-1 loss against Roma on Saturday in “Serie A”, but his coach confirmed that the tests “did not reveal anything.”

He said during the press conference on the sidelines of the match: “He was exhausted at the end of the match. He had a check-up this morning (Monday) which did not reveal anything. Today he will do light exercises, I still have to talk to the doctors and the player to assess his physical condition.”

In the absence of Martinez, he is expected to be replaced by his compatriot Joaquin Correa, along with Bosnian Edin Dzeko.

Inter will also miss the services of Croatian midfielder Marcelo Brozovic, who missed the match against Roma, after the injury he sustained in his left thigh during his country’s match against Austria.

After losing against Bayern Munich in the first two rounds, both the Catalan club and the Nerazzurri realize that there is no choice but to win in their quest to kidnap one of the two qualifying cards for the final price, starting from Tuesday in San Siro, before the meeting between them is renewed at the Camp Nou next Wednesday.
