A number of owners of MacBook Air, 13-inch MacBook Pro and the new Mac mini powered by Apple’s new M1 chip are facing Bluetooth connectivity issues, a bewildering situation especially for the standalone Mac mini.
As (Patrick Tommaso) – a filmmaker and cameraman with a YouTube channel – he notes that the problems range from interrupted connections to peripheral devices to complete connection failures.
Tommaso posted a tweet on Twitter in which he highlighted communication problems with his Mac mini, which contains the M1 chip, and referred to posts in a forum that reflect his concerns. He also posted a video detailing the difficulties of connecting via Bluetooth technology.
Tommaso said in his tweet: “I’m almost losing my mind trying to figure out the Bluetooth issues with this device. I thought maybe a few of us had this problem, but now the forums have shown that it is everywhere. ”
On the famous Reddit site, a number of owners of Mac computers operating with the M1 chip have complained that the peripheral devices of Apple or other third-party companies, including: the mouse, keyboard, and earphones, suffered from intermittent connectivity. The list of affected devices includes Apple’s AirPods itself.
The problem appears to be in Apple’s hardware, or the new macOS Big Sur operating system, where users were able to successfully connect Logitech accessories using the Logitech’s Unifying Receiver Bluetooth electronic switch. A Reddit user contacted Apple to replace his Mac mini, but the replacement device suffered the same problem.
It is noteworthy that this is not the first time that Apple suffers from Bluetooth problems, in 2014, users complained about slow performance with the Magic Mouse, the Magic Trackpad, the wireless keyboard from Apple, in addition to the wireless accessories from third parties, after Update to OS X Yosemite.
It is unclear how many MacBook Air, MacBook Pro and Mac mini units are currently affected, and Apple has not officially confirmed the problem yet.
