- “How to replace Benzema is a question for Ancelotti, but he has options”, assured the Barça coach
Xavi Hernández recognized that the absence of Karim Benzema in this Sunday’s Clasico (9pm/Movistar LaLiga) at the Santiago Bernabéu is important for Real Madrid, acknowledging the quality of the French striker, who was injured last Monday at the Mallorca fiefdom. “Benzema is one of the best nines in the world, he is a sensitive loss, but for us, our approach does not change anything, I suppose that for them it can change something,” he said about the ‘top scorer’ of LaLiga with 22 goals.
Insisted on the possible replacement at Real Madrid, Xavi stood out while considering it very difficult to win LaLiga: “How to replace Benzema is a question for Ancelotti, but he has options. And I already said about the League that it is very difficult, although let’s win. Madrid has lost 2 of the 28 games they’ve played and would have to lose three more”.
Xavi did not reveal his line-up but reiterated that the desired script will not vary much: “I have a clear idea, but you will see it tomorrow. In training, we will adjust things and the approach will be seen immediately with the line-up.”
And asked if Ronald Araujo could mark Vinicius, he left the door open: “There are many possibilities and options, I am unfair to many players, many can enter, but everyone has to be prepared because playing the last half hour can be transcendental”.
