Former striker Fernando Morientes expects Kylian Mbappe to play for Real Madrid next season after speaking to club president Florentino Perez.
Mbappe has frequently been linked with a move to the Spanish giants this summer when his contract with Paris Saint-Germain expires, although the French club still hope to be able to keep the star forward.
But Morientes says Perez “loves” Mbappe and is confident that the Real Madrid president will get his leg up.
“Killian will move to Real next year,” Morientes told RMC Sport. “I listened a lot to Real and Florentino Perez.”
Florentino Perez loves him, loves Killian because he is different. He is a player who can play for many years in Madrid.
Morientes played for Real Madrid from 1997-2005, scoring 100 goals in all competitions.
Paris Saint-Germain confident in keeping Kylian Mbappe
Kylian Mbappe rules out his move to Real Madrid in January
His predictions come after former Paris Saint-Germain star Zlatan Ibrahimovic revealed that he urged Mbappe to join Madrid.
“It is true that he asked me one day and I answered him, if I were you, I would go to Real Madrid,” Ibrahimovic said in exclusive statements to Ikeb. “I had the opportunity to play for different teams in different countries, that’s how I learned and grew up. Playing at home your whole career is easy.”
