If you upgraded the Windows 10 operating system to version (20H2) that was introduced last October, a new feature called Meet No will appear on the taskbar at the bottom right of the screen, where this new feature allows you to conduct video conferencing quickly and easily.
What is Meet Now in Windows 10?
Meet Now is among the features of the Skype application that have now been integrated into the Windows 10 operating system, as Microsoft aims to provide a quick way for users to make video calls easily, without the need to install another application, and the launch of the feature can be explained in the Windows 10 operating system as an attempt by Microsoft to compete with the popular video conferencing app Zoom.
What are the comparisons between Meet Now and Zoom?
Functionally, Meet Now is a convenient option for video calling, as you can host between 30 to 50 people in one group video call, and the video quality will remain adequate all the time depending on the strength of your internet connection.
Additionally, you do not need a Skype account or application to join a conference call in Meet Now, which makes it very easy to use, however, the feature lacks a very important feature: that there is no option to password-protect video calls unlike Zoom.
How to use the feature in Windows 10?
If you have Skype installed on your computer, pressing the Meet Now button on the taskbar will open the application to start the meeting, where you can set the meeting name, share the link, adjust audio and video settings, and choose a background effect.
If the Skype application is not installed on the computer, the meeting start window will open in your web browser, and you can also access the same video and audio settings, in addition to the option to join only by voice, and the feature gives you additional options, such as: View Participants and their management.
How to hide Meet Now feature from taskbar?
The easiest way to hide Meet Now from the taskbar is to right-click on its icon that appears in the north of the taskbar, then select the Hide option, and this will remove the icon from the taskbar directly, and it will not appear again.
