Manchester United defender and captain Harry Maguire has denied reports that there are differences between him and Cristiano Ronaldo over the captaincy of the team.
English reports had stated that Manchester United coach Ralph Rangnick had asked Ronaldo to take the captaincy instead of Maguire, which caused a split within the team as some young players were rejected.
These reports made Maguire break his silence through his official account on the social networking site “Twitter” and write: “I’ve seen a lot of reports about this club that are not true.”
He added: “I will not respond to everything that is written, but I needed to clarify this, we are united and focus only on Sunday’s match.”
Team striker Marcus Rashford had also responded to reports about the presence of parties and teams in the dressing room, because of Ronaldo, as Rashford said via his Twitter account: “Please stop looking for divisions within the team.”
I’ve seen a lot of reports about this club that aren’t true and this is another. Not going to start posting about everything that is written but I needed to make this one clear. We’re united and focused on Sunday. Enjoy your day everyone 💪🏻 @ManUtd https://t.co/YxLhQn8pqf
