The English club, Manchester United, announced yesterday, Thursday, the appointment of Dutchman Eric Ten Hag as technical director of the team, starting from the end of this season until June 2025, with the option of extending for an additional year.

Ten Hag will earn £9m a year at Manchester United, which is less than half of what Pep Guardiola gets at Manchester City.

Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers will earn more than the man tasked with leading the Red Devils from the start of the new season.

The Dutchman signed a contract until June 2025 with an annual wage of 9 million pounds, and this also makes him the fifth highest-paid manager in the Premier League, with Manchester City coach, Guardiola, getting 19 million pounds annually, which is the highest in the Premier League.

Eric Ten Hag said: “It is a great honor to be appointed coach of Manchester United and I am very excited about the next challenge. I know the history of this wonderful club and the passion of the fans, and I am absolutely determined to develop a team capable of achieving the success it deserves.”

“It will be difficult to leave Ajax after these wonderful years, and I can assure our fans of my full commitment and focus on finishing this season successfully before moving to Manchester United,” added the new Manchester coach.
