Press reports revealed that the Uruguayan star Luis Suarez was offered to the Italian clubs Lazio and Atalanta, as well as the English Aston Villa, after his official departure from Atletico Madrid.
The 35-year-old Uruguay striker is leaving Atletico Madrid on a free transfer this month after two years working under Diego Simeone.
Suarez’s time with the Argentine coach was successful and was an essential part of the season in which they won the title last season.
The Italian network, Toto Mercato, reported that Suarez’s representatives had recently offered him to Lazio while they were looking for a new club, as well as Atalanta and Fiorentina are also keen on choosing the former Liverpool player, but now they face competition from the Premier League.
Mercato indicated that Aston Villa, led by Steven Gerrard, is also interested in contracting with Suarez, as the English coach was keen to reunite him with a player who was his friend as a player during the Liverpool period, which was seen with the acquisition of Philippe Coutinho.
The Uruguayan striker is now taking some time to assess his options and determine the right club and offer.
