Liverpool are preparing tonight to announce the completion of the transfer of Uruguayan striker Darwin Nunez, Portuguese club Benfica, starting from the new season 2023.
Where Liverpool agreed with the management of Benfica club to join the player for 60 million euros, in addition to 20 million euros of variable incentives in the future.
Darwin Nunez has decided his desire to join the ranks of Liverpool, after talks that took place between him and Jurgen Klopp, technical director of the Reds team.
Benfica coach Nelson Verissimo had recently revealed in press statements that he hopes that the sale of Nunez will bring the same transfer fee that the club received by selling Joao Felix, who signed for Atletico Madrid in 2019 in a deal worth 127 million euros. The club is now expected to receive 120 million euros from the potential sale of Nunez in the next summer transfer window and will therefore make a profit of close to 100 million euros considering that it paid only 24 million euros for the acquisition of Nunez’s signature in 2020.
