Liverpool entered the Norwich match with very high spirits, after winning the League Cup for the ninth time in its history, with penalty kicks, after a historic match against Chelsea, and was the only club to win the title 9 times.


The Reds grabbed the title from the Blues’ fangs with a penalty shootout 11-10 after the match ended in a goalless draw at “Wembley” in the Carabao Cup final for the current season 2021-2022, where the 11-10 victory is the highest penalty shootout result between two English Premier League teams in history .

Liverpool played with Norwich in 3 previous matches in the FA Cup, and the Reds excelled in two matches, while the tie ended in the atmosphere of the third confrontation.

Liverpool qualified for this round after defeating Cardiff City 3-0 in the fourth round of the competition.

The Liverpool team is second in the English Premier League table with 60 points, collected from 26 matches, after winning 18 matches, drawing in six matches, and losing twice.

Norwich City occupies the last place with 17 points, which it won from 26 matches, after winning 4 matches, drawing 5, and losing 17 matches.
