German coach Jurgen Klopp, coach of the professional English team Liverpool, among his Egyptian international ranks, Mohamed Salah, claims that 2022 was a successful year for his team.
This comes after the successes achieved by his team during that year, after winning the League Cup and the FA Cup, while losing Premier League by a point from Manchester City and falling in the Champions League final against Real Madrid.
“From a sporting point of view, 2022 was a very successful year,” Klopp said in statements published by his club, Liverpool, on Sunday. “It started with the League Cup, and the FA Cup final was special. I had a lot of fun.”
Liverpool coach added: “Our league campaign last season was clearly great as well. We were close again. I know that is not very appreciated.
”German coach continued: “I am really proud of that, in the Champions League final, Thibaut Courtois, Real Madrid goalkeeper, had a wonderful day.
”Klopp added, “It will not be the Champions League final that we will remember for the rest of our lives, but what we will remember for the rest of our lives is the day after we celebrated with the fans at the end of the season.
“The Reds coach added, “In the new season, we did not succeed as we expected, but this is life. You have to deal with the circumstances and recover. I look forward to 2023. We will try to work together, help each other, and make it the best year of our lives.
”Liverpool is preparing to face Aston Villa in Premier League tomorrow, Monday, in the 15th round of the competition, and Liverpool ranks sixth with 22 points, 15 points behind leaders Arsenal, while Aston Villa comes in 12th place with 18 points.
Liverpool set a date with Real Madrid in the round of 16 of the Champions League.
