- Chelsea are in dire need of a center-back and have been linked with Man Utd’s Harry Maguire.
Not long ago, The Times revealed that Chelsea wanted to recruit Maguire from Man Utd. They are said to be confident in owning the English midfielder when they realize that the Red Devils want Christian Pulisic – the winger is disgraced at Stamford Bridge.
However, the Red Devils quickly got an answer, which is that they will not let Maguire leave. Coach Erik ten Hag sees the £80m player as key to his plans at Old Trafford.
And recently, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano said of Chelsea’s midfielder hunt: “I’ve been asked a lot about Harry Maguire… I understand that, at the moment, Chelsea’s priority is Wesley Fofana. the only answer I got from Chelsea.”
Wesley Fofana has long been eyed by coach Thomas Tuchel. Chelsea have reached a personal agreement with the French defender. However, the two offers they sent to Leicester City were rejected. The foxes are said to be selling Fofana with an asking amount of up to 95 million euros – a figure too high that the Stamford Bridge team cannot meet.
A report recently revealed: “Basically, Fofana was packed and ready to go to Chelsea. He was already standing at the door just waiting to be told when he could leave the team.”
