Real Madrid striker Mayoral officially moves to Getafe for 5 seasons

Real Madrid and Getafe officially announced today, Monday, that they had reached an agreement for the permanent transfer of Borja Mayoral, the Real Madrid striker, to Getafe, after the end of his 6-month loan, and Mayoral joined Getafe last January, scoring 6 goals in 18 matches.

The Spanish player signed a contract for the next 5 years with Getafe, after agreeing with Real Madrid on all the terms of the contract to remain at Alfonso Perez Stadium until June 2027.

Getafe has set next Thursday, August 4, as the date for the presentation of Mayoral through the media.

Mayoral joined Real Madrid in 2007 at the age of ten and rose in his age group to reach the reserve team, which scored 17 goals in 38 games.

Mayoral was promoted to the first team of Real Madrid in 2015 under the leadership of Zinedine Zidane.

In total, Mayoral played 33 games with Real Madrid, during which he scored 7 goals and assisted 4 others.

Mayoral went out on loan on several occasions to Wolfsburg, Levante, Roma, and finally Getafe.

Mayoral starred with the Spain national team in the 2015 European Junior Championships and was crowned top scorer for the competition, and also won the European Youth Championship 2019 with La Roja juniors.

Mayoral became the sixth player to leave Real Madrid this summer, after Marcelo, Isco, Gareth Bale, Luka Jovic, and Takefusa Kubo.
