- He will sign a contract until June 2026 in case he passes the medical examination to which he will be subjected this Tuesday morning
FC Barcelona defender Óscar Mingueza, 23, arrived in Vigo tonight to close his transfer to Celta, with whom he will sign a contract until June 2026 if he passes the medical examination which he will undergo tomorrow morning.
The soccer player landed after 11 pm at the Peinador airport, where he was received by former soccer player and member of Celta’s sports management Mario Bermejo. There he allowed himself to be photographed with the fans who had been waiting for more than an hour for a flight that landed late.
Mingueza is the fifth signing of the team led by Eduardo “Chacho” Coudet after Óscar Rodríguez (Sevilla), Swedberg (Hammbarby) , Luca de la Torre (Heracles) and Unai Núñez (Athletic Club).
With the arrival of the still Barcelona player, with whom he played 47 games and more than 2,700 minutes in the First Division, Celta will close their defensive line, becoming the third center-back with a first-team record after Unai and Joseph Aidoo. Carlos Domínguez will train under Coudet but will continue with a Celta B file
