Chelsea have announced the signing of Spanish full-back Marc Cucurella from Brighton during the current summer transfers.

Chelsea published a brief statement on its official account on the social networking site “Twitter” today, Friday, in which he said: “After numerous reports from the media this week, we can confirm that we have reached an agreement with Brighton for the signing of Marc Cucurella.”

British reports indicated that the deal would cost Chelsea about 55 million pounds, while the Blues would later pay 7 million in additional variables.

Cucurella joined Brighton last summer for 15 million pounds from Getafe.

It is reported that Chelsea signed Englishman Raheem Sterling from Manchester City, and Senegalese Kalidou Koulibaly from Brighton, Italy.
