The specialist in the transfer market, Fabrizio Romano, said that the Dutch international, Memphis Depay, a player of the Barcelona football team, will not accept to leave his Spanish club until he evaluates the offer of the Italian club Juventus, although the two clubs want to complete the deal quickly.
The Spanish newspaper “Barca Universal” reported that Barcelona asked Memphis to leave, but he wants to do so on his own terms, as he asked Barcelona to terminate his contract so that he can negotiate with the club of his choice without the participation of a third party.
The Dutchman arrived at the club on a free transfer last summer and ended up becoming the team’s top scorer for the 2021/22 season, which he finished by scoring 13 goals in all competitions, however, his stock fell dramatically after the arrival of coach Xavi Hernandez.
The Spanish coach asked the club to bring in Ferran Torres and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the winter transfer window, then the Catalans went on to buy Raphinha and Robert Lewandowski this summer, while also renewing Ousmane Dembele.
The report indicates that he will receive a high salary at Juventus, and the Italian giant will pay a symbolic amount to Barcelona, as well as performance-related bonuses for the services of the 28-year-old striker.
Memphis has already been linked to several clubs this summer, including Tottenham Hotspur, Juventus, Roma, Olympique de Marseille, and Newcastle United, with Barcelona reportedly wanting 20 million euros for the Dutch star.
