Veteran French striker Olivier Giroud led AC Milan to a precious victory over its host Napoli, with a clean goal, in the meeting that brought them together on Sunday evening at Diego Armando Maradona Stadium, in the twenty-eighth round of Serie A for the current season 2021-2022.
Giroud scored the goal of Milan’s victory in the match in the 49th minute, after turning his colleague David Calabria’s shot into the net of Naples, to win the Rossoneri 3 valuable points in the competition for the Calcio title.
The 35-year-old veteran French star deserved the title of conqueror of the top Italian league clubs, after he managed to shake their nets this season with a goal in Rome and Naples and two goals against Inter Milan.
Giroud raised his scoring tally in Serie A to 8 goals, equal with his colleague, Swedish star Zlatan Ibrahimovic, while Juventus star Dusan Vlahovic and Lazio top scorer Cher Immobile top the scorer list with 20 goals.
Giroud joined Milan last summer, from Chelsea, in a deal that cost the Italian giant’s treasury only one million euros, and signed a two-year contract.
Milan topped the Serie A standings with 60 points from winning 18 matches, drawing 6, losing 4 matches, scoring 54 goals and receiving 29.
