Manchester United beat its host Leeds United 4-2, during the match that brought the two teams together this afternoon, Sunday, at the “Eland Road” stadium, the stronghold of Leeds, in the 26th round of the English Premier League.
Manchester United had the most control against Leeds, as it reached the latter’s goal with more than one dangerous ball throughout the events of the first half, and Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo missed a goal for Manchester United against Leeds, after a magical pass from Frenchman Paul Pogba.
In the 34th minute, Manchester United captain Harry Maguire scored the first goal for his team from a superb header after a corner kick from the right, and in the 45th minute, Portuguese star Bruno Fernandes scored the second goal for Manchester United against Leeds.
In the second half, Leeds tied with two goals in two minutes through Rodrigo Moreno and Rafinha in the 53rd and 54th minutes, respectively, and was on his way to achieving Remontada, before Manchester United returned to the match.
Brazilian Fred scored Manchester United’s third goal in the 77th minute, before young Anthony Ilanga scored the fourth in the 88th minute, to end the match with the Red Devils winning 4-2.
Manchester United started the Leeds match with a formation consisting of Goalkeepers: David De Gea / Defense: Luke Shaw – Harry Maguire – Victor Lindelof – Wan-Bissaka / Midfield: Paul Pogba – Scott McTominay – Bruno Fernandes – Lingard / Forwards: Cristiano Ronaldo – Jadon Sancho .
With this result, Manchester United maintains fourth place in the English Premier League table, with 46 points, while Leeds United comes in 15th place with 23 points.
