Pep Guardiola opened the door to signing a new contract with Manchester City, a day before defending the Premier League title.

The 52-year-old, who has won the Premier League four times in five years, is now in the final season of his contract with Manchester City.

Guardiola said in his statements, “I will not change my life here for one second, we spoke with the club in the middle of the season, the end of the season, we will talk again about how we feel and decide what is best for the club.”

“I’ve said many times if they want it, I’d like to stay longer but at the same time I have to make sure, it’s not the second or third season, it’s been many years already and I have to see how the players behave.”

He continued: “I don’t want to be a problem, sometimes when you expand things and force them to be not good, so we have to go through it and relax and this kind of situation happens when it happens in a natural way if you force it it will not go well.”

“We will see what happens during the season and how we feel, and the best decision will be taken for the club.”

City start their Premier League campaign against West Ham United on Sunday.
