Liverpool swept Leeds United 6-0 in the match that took place between them on Wednesday evening at “Anfield” as part of the 19th round of the English Premier League postponed for the current season 2021-2022.
Liverpool’s goals were scored by Mohamed Salah (two goals), Joel Matip, and Sadio Mane (two goals) in the 15th, 30th, 35th, 80th, 90th and 93rd minutes, respectively.
Mohamed Salah excelled in the first half and showed a great picture after he was able to contribute to Liverpool’s three goals by scoring two goals and making the third for Joel Matip.
With this result, Liverpool was in second place in the Premier League table with 60 points, collected from winning 18 matches, drawing 6, losing two matches, scoring 70 goals and receiving only 20.
While Leeds United were in the fifteenth place in the Premier League table, with 23 points, collected from winning 5 matches, drawing 8, losing 12 matches, scoring 29 goals and receiving 56.
Mohamed Salah is the top scorer in the English Premier League with 19 goals, 7 goals behind his closest follower in the standings, Diego Jota.
Mohamed Salah, in his total scoring contributions during the current season, reached 29 goals, 19 goals and 10 assists.
Mohamed Salah is only 4 goals away from equaling Steven Gerrard’s number (69 goals) as the second most scored player at Anfield in the history of the Premier League.
Mohamed Salah surpassed Harry Chambers, who scored 151 goals with Liverpool, after the Pharaoh scored the second goal.
Liverpool wrote: “Here is history, here is the present, here is Salah.. The living legend of Liverpool continues to break records, with 152 goals.. Egyptian King Mohamed Salah becomes the ninth scorer of the Reds throughout history.”
