• Zaha put Crystal Palace ahead and Luis Díaz prevented the defeat of Klopp’s men with a great goal—

The premiere of Liverpool at Anfield in the current Premier was not exactly lucky this Monday: it could not go from 1-1 against Crystal Palace, Darwin Núñez expelled himself in the 57th minute and Jürgen Klopp’s team is four points behind Manchester City Pep Guardiola and Arsenal’s Mikel Arteta, who lead the table.

Liverpool started well in their first game this season at Anfield in the English championship. But, despite the good game and the chances that the ‘red’ team had, the truth is that he was not able to take advantage of any of them. Joachim Andersen managed to deflect a shot from Harvey Elliott. Mohamed Salah threw wide. James Milner, tall. Darwin Núñez was already showing signs that he was not having his night.

Instead, it was Wilfried Zaha who put Crystal Palace ahead. It happened in the 32nd minute when Zaha won back against Nat Phillipps and beat Alisson. The night had been very complicated for Klopp’s team. Even in minute 41, the ‘reds’ goalkeeper prevented Zaha from scoring again. Andersen sent it in the 44th minute. he cornered the ball after a header from Elliott.

It was Liverpool’s turn to come back in the second half against a Crystal Palace that knew how to close well. Núñez wasted an opportunity in the 49th minute and the Uruguayan asked for Joel Ward’s hand, which the referee dismissed.

And in minute 57, a tremendous blow for the ‘reds’. Darwin Núñez saw the red card for giving Andersen a header, who was recriminating him for his protests. It can be said that the Uruguayan striker almost expelled himself because his action made no sense.

Klopp’s men were down to ten, but Luis Díaz gave them hope with a great goal that made it 1-1. The Colombian entered from the left, left five rivals behind, and hit a spectacular shot to level the score at Anfield. It was a great goal.

Outnumbered, Liverpool sought victory. Trent Alexander-Arnold lobbed a high ball after a great pass from Salah. But Crystal Palace caused unease at Anfield by hitting the post through Zaha. It was 78′. And in the 87th minute, Salah hit a volley that grazed Patrick Vieira’s goal. In the end, 1-1 and Liverpool sees City and Arsenal four points behind.
