- The Granota team sleeps just three points from remaining and is no longer the bottom team after the golden victory achieved over Real thanks to a penalty that Gonzalo Melero converted two minutes from the end. A victory to continue believing in permanence, while the Basque team slows down its Eropean aspirations
Levante achieved a golden victory this Friday against Real Sociedad, three invaluable points that allow them to continue dreaming of an agonizing salvation that they will fight until the end. And it is that with the celebrated victory, the Granota team ceases to be bottom and sleeps just three points from permanence ( 29), a privileged area that Cádiz marks with 32 points, at the expense of what their rivals do this weekend .
After a great first half with a barrage of chances but no goals, Miramón put Lisci’s men ahead in the 53rd minute, but David Silva equalized in the 66th minute. But two minutes from the end Levante gave the final blow by tying the vital victory with a penalty, a goal scored by Gonzalo Melero, unleashing madness in a Ciutat de València that continues to dream of the miracle, they continue to believe in saving themselves. Levante deserved the victory against a Real team that gave a lot of trouble and left empty, despite the carousel of chances they had, seeing their European aspirations slowed down, although they remain sixth in the table.
Levente came out biting, logically because his life was going, and surprised Real from the start with high pressure. But soon he warned the Basque team that he needed to win and that he did not see it for a walk. In minute 15 Isak went to the kitchen and the goalkeeper Cárdenas showed off to avoid the first goal of the night.
Morales and above all, Dani Gómez gave the answer for a Levante that stood up and looked for the rival goal, aware that it was only worth winning. But after half an hour the txuri urdin monologue intensified and the chances began to arrive, with the sticks being the protagonists.
In the 31st minute, the granota goal post prevented a Sorloth header from opening the scoring. And two minutes later it was the crossbar that aborted Real’s goal after an impressive whiplash from Isak, who deserved to go up to the light. The Basque power and threat did not decompose Levante because in the 36th minute the goalkeeper Remiro had to show off to save the local first, as Dani Gómez ‘s point-blank shot had a lot of poison. The duel was a give and take, beautiful and electric.
Before the break there was still time to see a clear chance in each area. In the 37th minute, Son saved Sorloth’s goal on the goal line and in the 45th minute, Morales failed to beat Remiro with a point-blank shot that was already being sung. It seemed incredible that the break was reached with 0-0.
The second part started vibrant with the difference that the goals already fell. In minute 53, Levante struck first with a goal from Miramón to culminate a great team play, unleashing madness in the Ciutat de València.

|THE BEST The faith of a Levante that did not give up and achieved a golden triumph against a great rival|
|THE WORST La Real loses camber upstairs and lacked success in defining the carousel of chances it had. The posts played a trick on him|
Real kept pressing, in need of a win to cling to Europe, and managed to bite. In the 66th minute, the crossbar spit out a shot from Sorloth again, but the clearance was picked up by Gorosabel to put in a great cross to David Silva who headed deep to make it 1-1.
No one lowered their guard, on the contrary, so the danger continued to hover in both areas, a beautiful and electric duel. Levante scored but it was annulled for offside by Roger Martí in the 78th minute.
The two continued to bite, but Levante’s faith made them win a prize. In minute 88 , a slap by Rico to Bardhi gave rise to a penalty in favor of the local team. Gonzalo Melero took on the great responsibility and did not fail from 11 meters to make it 2-1 for a Levante that he believed in and a stadium that was screaming, believing in salvation. The ‘Yes you can’ resounded in a euphoric Ciutat de València.
