Barcelona agree two friendlies in Australia in preparation for the new season

Press reports revealed that the Spanish club Barcelona is close to signing an agreement to play two friendly matches in Australia after the end of the current season, before the preparation period for the new season.

The Spanish newspaper, Mundo Deportivo, said that Barcelona decided to play two matches in Australia after the end of the season, and they are outside the preparation period.

The newspaper pointed out that Barcelona was close to agreeing to hold two matches for the team in Australia to finance the club’s coffers, after the great economic crisis that hit the club significantly during the Corona virus pandemic.

The newspaper added that Barcelona faces one problem in playing these friendly matches due to the commitment of European teams to play four matches in the European Nations League between the period from 2 to 14 June.

The newspaper added that the Spanish national team will face Portugal on June 2, June 5 the Czech Republic, June 9 Switzerland, and June 12 the Czech Republic, respectively.

The newspaper pointed out that Barcelona’s trip to Australia should take place between May 23 and 29, because it is the most appropriate period for the team to play friendly matches before the participation of most of the players with the Spanish national team and then prepare for the new season.

Barcelona is in fourth place in the La Liga standings this season with 45 points, while Bilbao is in eighth place with 37 points.
