Slovenian goalkeeper Samir Handanovic continues his career in the Italian Inter Milan shirt for an additional season, after the Nerazzurri announced the renewal of the captain’s contract for one year, to continue until the end of the 2022-2023 season.
The 37-year-old Slovenian goalkeeper Samir Handanovic has been playing at Inter Milan since 2012, after moving from Udinese in a deal worth 15 million euros.
Statistics reveal that Handanovic, 37, has participated in 438 matches for Inter Milan in various competitions since 2012 until now.
The Slovenian goalkeeper conceded 451 goals in all competitions with Inter, went out with clean sheets in 161 matches, received 21 yellow cards, and received two red cards.
Handanovic won three titles in his career with Inter Milan: Serie A, the Italian Cup, and the Italian Super Cup.
Slovenian Samir Handanovic played 50 games in the ending season with Inter Milan in all competitions, conceding 40 goals and leaving 21 clean sheets.
Inter Milan said in a statement on its official website: “Inter Milan is pleased to announce that Samir Handanovic has extended his contract with the club until June 30, 2023.”
For his part, Handanovic spoke to the club’s official website after renewing his contract, saying, “Ten years ago, I joined a big club and I’m still in a big team.”
“I am very happy and proud to be a captain and a player at Inter because this is a continuous privilege. Those who play for Inter always have a lot of desire, here we play to win trophies,” he added.
