Intel’s NUC M15 aims to rival HP and DELL devices

Intel launched its new internally designed NUC M15 laptop, to be sold through different partners in early 2021.

This computer represents the latest device in the NUC line (Next Unit Computing), which is best known for making miniature desktop computers.

You will not see the Intel name printed on the computer, due to the fact that the company provides this mobile device to partners, who can sell the NUC M15 with their brands and configurations.

The laptop could offer smaller brands another way to take on big players, such as Dell and HP.

This is not the first time Intel has done so, as just over a year ago it produced the MAG-15, a gaming laptop that was sold by a number of smaller brands around the world.

The computer is likely to sell at a price between $ 1000 and $ 1500, depending on the specifications, so that the prices will be left to Intel’s partners, and the device should be available for purchase early next year.

The computer includes a Core i5-1135G7 processor or an eleventh-generation Core i7-1165G7, with an integrated Iris Xe graphics card instead of a discrete graphics card from Nvidia.

There is a 15.6-inch, 1080-pixel IPS screen – available with or without touch – and you can choose 8GB or 16GB of RAM, although you will not be able to upgrade the memory later.

A variety of storage spaces are available, depending on the brand that sells the computer, and Intel says: The 73-watt-hour battery should provide up to 16 hours of use on a single charge.

The computer features two USB 4 Type-C or Thunderbolt 4 ports for charging and data transfer, two 10 Gbps USB-A ports, a full-size HDMI port, and a 3.5mm headphone port.

The computer also includes an LED lighting strip that glows blue when using the Alexa app for Windows, and the NUC M15 has four built-in microphones that can detect your voice from around the room.

The laptop’s webcam is compatible with Windows Hello, so it can use facial recognition technology for logins.
