Polish Football Association President: FIFA’s decision on Russia is unacceptable

The President of the Polish Football Association, Cesare Kolesza, criticized the decision of the International Football Association “FIFA” on Russia, stressing that it is totally unacceptable and must be considered.

“This is a totally unacceptable decision, for us we will never accept the decisions of FIFA, we are not interested in participating in the game of appearances, our position is still sound,” the Polish Football Association president said on his official account, stressing that the national team will not play against Russia.

It is noteworthy that under mounting pressure to take measures against Russia after its military operation in Ukraine, the leadership of the International Football Association “FIFA” agreed on Sunday on a set of measures that will take effect in the play-off match for the World Cup qualifiers in Russia next month.

The International Federation announced that Russia will not participate in any international competition on its soil, and the name of Russia will be banned, and the Russian national team will play under the name of the Russian Football Association.

The head of the Polish Football Association announced yesterday that his country refused to face Russia in the semi-final match of the European qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup due to the military operation launched by Russia against Ukraine since last Thursday.

The Polish newspaper (The First News) quoted the president of the federation as saying through his official account on (Twitter), “We are in talks with the federations to announce our common position to the International Football Association (FIFA).”

Russia and Poland will meet in the semi-finals of the second track of the qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar on March 24.
