Egypt beat Senegal 1-0 in the match that brought them together this evening, Friday, at Cairo International Stadium, in the first leg of the decisive round of qualifying for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Senegal defender Salio Cissé scored Egypt’s goal by mistake in his team’s goal in the fourth minute, after Mohamed Salah’s ball hit the Senegalese player’s foot and hit the net against Senegal goalkeeper Mendy.
The return match in Dakar on March 29 will decide the qualifiers for the next World Cup in Qatar.
The formation of the Egyptian national team for tonight’s match included: Mohamed El-Shennawy, Ahmed Fattouh, Mohamed Abdel Moneim, Mahmoud Hamdi El Wensh, Omar Jaber, Amr El-Sulayya, Hamdi Fathi, Mohamed Elneny, Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet, Mohamed Salah, and Mostafa Mohamed.
