Liverpool challenge Manchester City in a fiery summit for FA Community Shield today

Liverpool will play a fiery confrontation against Manchester City today, Saturday, at the King Power Stadium, for the FA Community Shield title, before the start of the Premier League on August 5.

The Liverpool match against Man City will be held at 5 pm today, Saturday, London time, at the King Power Stadium, in FA Community Shield.

Liverpool will play FA Community Shield match after winning the FA Cup by defeating Chelsea in the cup final in a penalty shootout last season.

While Manchester City is playing the match for being the champion of the Premier League season 2021-2022 after a strong competition with Liverpool until the last round, but the Citizens succeeded in winning the Premier League title by one point from the Reds.

Liverpool enters today’s match armed with its Egyptian star, Mohamed Salah, after he renewed his contract with the Reds weeks ago, in addition to some new deals, most notably the new striker Darwin Nunez, after the departure of Senegalese Sadio Mane to Bayern Munich during the current summer transfer period.

Manchester City is also armed with a number of new deals, most notably Erling Haaland, the newcomer to the team’s attack, who is waiting for the first official appearance in the City shirt against Liverpool, after joining the Citizens from Borussia Dortmund during the summer Mercato as well.

The English Football Association Shield match, known as the “Charity Shield”, between Liverpool, the FA Cup champion, and Manchester City, the Premier League champion for the second time in a row.

This is the second time that the two teams meet in the FA Community Shield, as the two teams previously met in the tournament in 2019, and City decided it by penalty kicks.

Mohamed Salah is seeking to win the Charity Shield for 2022, to finally collect all the collective titles in which he participated with the Reds over the past five years.

Mohamed Salah succeeded in winning the Premier League, FA Cup, League Cup, European Champions League, Club World Cup and European Super Cup titles, but he did not win the Charity Shield title despite his participation in it twice before.

Salah tops the list of the most expensive Liverpool players in the match tonight, as the price of the pharaoh reaches 90 million euros, followed by Trent Alexander-Arnold with a marketing value of 80 million euros, while Halland is considered the most expensive player in terms of marketing value at the Manchester City summit against Liverpool, where his value is 150 million euros.
