Spain’s Real Betis fell into the trap of defeating its guest team, Eintracht Frankfurt, 2-1, in the match that brought them together on Wednesday evening, at the “Pento Villarmarin” stadium, in the first leg of the 16th round of the European League.
The goals of the match came in the first half, Eintracht scored the first goal through his player Philip Kostic in the 14th minute, but French star Nabil Fekir managed to equalize for Real Betis in the 30th minute.
Daiichi Kamada returned the lead to the visitors in the 32nd minute of the meeting.
In the second half, Rafael Santos Puri missed the opportunity to add the third goal for the German team, after he missed a penalty kick in the 52nd minute of the match.
It is worth noting that the return match will bring the two teams together on Thursday, March 17th in Germany at the Commerzbank-Arena, the stronghold of Eintracht Frankfurt.
The draw for the quarter-finals of the European League will be held at noon on Friday, March 18th, in the Swiss city of Nyon.
