- The Sevillian midfielder cannot face Galatasaray due to suspension, so Xavi could line up a forward with Aubameyang, Ferran and Adama or Dembélé
- Dest will recover the right side taking into account that Alves is not registered in the competition
FC Barcelona trained this Wednesday morning at the Ciutat Esportiva preparing for this Thursday’s duel against Galatasaray at the Camp Nou, in the first leg of the Europa League round of 16.
Xavi has his entire squad, with the exception of the injured Ansu, Umtiti, Sergi Roberto and Balde, in addition to the suspended Gavi, who received a yellow card in Naples in European competition and will have to serve a warning against Galatasaray. In the session was Ferran Jutglà, who cannot play in the Europa League as he is not registered, as well as Arnau Tenas, who will be the third goalkeeper.
Without the Andalusian, Xavi will once again bet on playing with two wingers against the Turkish team. With Aubameyang fixed as ‘9’ and Ferran, after his good performance in Elche, also with many numbers to act on the left, Dembélé and Adama will compete for a position on the right wing. The Frenchman started last Sunday, so it remains to be seen if the coach keeps him in the eleven or bets on Adama.
Dest by Alves
Another that will be low, although not due to suspension, will be Dani Alves. The Brazilian cannot play the Europa League as he is not registered in the competition, so Dest will regain ownership on the right side.
Colllejas for Araujo
Before the session, Ronald Araujo has taken the collejas of his companions. The Uruguayan center-back, who celebrated his 23rd anniversary on Monday, had to go through the tunnel that his teammates had prepared for him to receive ‘caresses’ on the head.
After the session, Frenkie de Jong will appear in the press room at the Ciutat Esportiva, followed by Xavi Hernández.
