Franck Ribery suffers a car accident and sustains a head injury

The Italian club Salernitana announced that its famous player, Franck Ribery, the former Bayern Munich star, was injured in a traffic accident last night, which will keep him out of action for at least a week.

A club statement read: “Following a car accident, player Franck Ribery, who was not driving, has been diagnosed with a minor head injury and will rest on reserve for a few days.”

According to Calciomercato.com, the former Bayern Munich star could be out of action for around seven days.

The 38-year-old captained the Granata in their 1-1 draw with Bologna at Areci Stadium. And that if he stays on the treatment table for a week, he will miss Friday’s match in the Italian league against Inter at San Siro.

Ribery suffered from infection with the Corona virus last January, as he participated during the current season in 12 matches and contributed to several assists.

The newspaper pointed out that the former Bayern Munich star is seriously considering ending the contract with his Italian club and announcing his retirement from playing.

The report stressed that it is not a coincidence that Salernitana was linked to the inclusion of the player Diego Perotti during the current transfer period in a free transfer deal.

Walter Sabatini, the new sporting director, managed to sign more than a dozen players in the January transfer window, hoping to bolster the team’s survival hope.

Reports indicated that Ribery’s salary will reach 1.5 million euros per year, and he signed a contract for one season at the beginning, with the option to renew for an additional season.
