- The Barca club considers that the five signings may be under Xavi’s orders against Rayo Vallecano given that they have the fourth lever ready and they also have advanced negotiations with Piqué and Busquets to lower the ‘fair play
The five signings that FC Barcelona has made so far ( Kessié, Christensen, Raphinha, Lewandowski, and Koundé ) may be under the command of Xavi Hernández for the first official duel of the season, this coming Saturday against Rayo Vallecano at Spotify Camp Neu (21 hours). This is confirmed by sources from the Barça club, who are optimistic that LaLiga will give them the go-ahead to register the five players before Friday, the day before the league premiere.
Barça has prepared two mechanisms so that the employers of Spanish football give the go-ahead to these five additions. On the one hand, the fourth economic lever, by which Barça will receive another 100 million euros in exchange for the other 24.5% of the rights of Barça Studios, with which in total it would end up income from the sale of assets, among the TV rights and those of Barça Studios, some 720 million, without counting the capital gains of 150 million that the current one calculated and that LaLiga did not accept.
Piqué and Busquets, the other ‘levers’
In addition to the fourth economic lever, Barça also has the help of the captains Piqué and Busquets to be able to comply with the ‘fair play. Gerard has already transferred to the club that he is for the work of collaborating by reducing the salary of the two years with which he extended his contract, until June 2024. And in the same terms is Busquets, after the meeting that the captain has held today with Mateu Alemany, Jordi Cruyff, vice-president Rafa Yuste, and coach Xavi Hernández, although in the case of Badía his relationship with the Barça club ends on June 30.
