Alejandro Grimaldo could leave Benfica in the summer

Alejandro Grimaldo, Benfica’s left-back, is one of the names that Barça manages to reinforce the squad for next season and has many options to change scenery during next summer, since his contract ends in 2023 and the Portuguese club expect make some cash for the footballer.

In Portugal there was talk that Grimaldo’s starting price would be around 10-15 million euros, an affordable amount for a player of his quality, but Barça is not the only powerful team interested in his signing. According to the Italian newspaper ‘Tuttosport’, Juventus Turin is also attentive to Grimaldo’s situation in order to have more competition with Alex Sandro in the left lane of defense and could go for him.

According to the aforementioned information, Grimaldo would be the preferred option for Juventus but there would also be other alternatives such as Mathías Olivera (Getafe), Renan Lodi (Atlético de Madrid) or Emerson Palmieri (Olympique Lyon) to reinforce the left side.

At Barça they have Grimaldo in good regard, due to his past at the club and his contractual situation, but they are also keeping an eye on José Luis Gayà (Valencia) or Nicolás Tagliafico (Ajax) as candidates to join the Camp Nou next season.
