The Valencia team qualified for the final match of the King’s Cup for the current season 2021-2022, after defeating its guest, Athletic Bilbao, with a clean goal, in the second leg of the semi-finals, which brought them together on Wednesday evening at the Mestalla stadium, the stronghold of the bat team.
The first leg was decided by a 1-1 draw at the “San Mames” stadium, the stronghold of Athletic Bilbao.
The goal of Valencia’s victory in the meeting was scored by Portuguese player Goncalo Guedes in the 43rd minute of the match, with a powerful shot to the left of Athletic Bilbao’s goalkeeper.
The bat team is awaiting in the final match of the King’s Cup, the qualifier against Real Betis and Rayo Vallecano, and the Andalusian team had settled the first leg away from its stadium with a score of 2-1 before facing the second leg of the semi-final on Thursday evening.
The last time Valencia reached the final of the Spanish Cup was during the 2018-2019 season, and crowned the title for the eighth time in its history after beating Valencia 2-1.
It is worth noting that Barcelona is the reigning champion of the last edition of the King’s Cup, after its big victory over Athletic Bilbao in the final 4-0.
